Trinity Gardens
Gardens are a good way to describe this heavily wooded area in northeast Houston. It’s a shade cooler in the Gardens because thousands of mature trees mean lower air conditioning bills and more comfortable back yards. Mostly residential in character, there are $25 million in new roads and overpasses, a new library, and a new community center.
Fifth Ward
Fifth Ward is home to some of the greatest community leaders both from the past and present. Housing styles range from historic one-story, wood-sided cottages to modern three-story brick townhomes. Located east of U.S. 59 and north of the Houston Ship Channel, Fifth Ward is within minutes of downtown, the Medical Center and other major hubs.
Independence Heights
After World War I, Independence Heights was the first town incorporated in Texas by African-Americans. In 1929 it became a part of Houston. This neighborhood rich with history is full of new life with restoration of older homes at the same time new home are being built. Conveniently located just north of Loop 610 and west of I-45 provides easy access to Houston major activity centers.
